Jessica Edwards is the Research Manager at the National Center on Time & Learning (NCTL). At NCTL, Jessica’s work investigates the relationship between time and learning, including examining the various constructs of learning time and implications for diverse learners, analyzing the resources and costs associated with increases in learning time, and exploring the impacts of various federal, state and district efforts to expand or reconfigure student learning time on student outcomes. Currently, she manages several efforts to map the field of expanded-learning time schools in the U.S. and track educational time policies and practices for students and educators abroad. Jessica has previously served as an Education Policy Fellow for the Institute for Educational Leadership, drafting a variety of policy reports on school turnaround and educator evaluation efforts. She is also a CLASS certified classroom observer at the elementary and secondary levels; a data collection method used in research as well as teacher induction and evaluation programs.
Prior to joining NCTL, Jessica was a classroom teacher as well as an instructor at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education’s Teacher Demonstration Center; a center that provides continuing education opportunities for teachers and school leaders. Jessica holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology.
