Christopher Gabrieli is an entrepreneur in the business, public policy and non-profit arenas. He is Co-Chairman of the National Center on Time & Learning and the co-founder and Chairman of Massachusetts 2020.
Massachusetts 2020 led the first statewide effort in America to expand learning time in public schools. In 2006, ten Massachusetts pioneering public schools in five communities opened their doors with expanded school days in 2007, eight more schools in three additional communities joined them.
The National Center on Time & Learning is dedicated to expanding learning time to improve student achievement and enable a well-rounded education. The Center conducts research, supports public policy at the local, state and federal level and provides technical assistance to schools, districts and states.
Chris began his career as the co-founder of GMIS, a pioneering healthcare software company that became the leader in its field. He spent 15 years as a General Partner of Bessemer Venture Partners, a leading early-stage venture capital firm, where he helped create, finance and build dozens of biotechnology and healthcare companies.
Chris serves on numerous civic and university boards. In 2002, he won the Democratic primary for Lt. Governor and came in second in the Democratic primary for Governor of Massachusetts in 2006.
Chris lives in Boston with his wife Hilary and their five children.
