Recent studies and firsthand experience in the field demonstrate that more learning time can have a catalytic effect on student achievement and school success. More and more, states across the country are taking advantage of new federal resources and increased flexibility to add learning time in schools. Having worked with numerous state departments of education, supported more than 100 schools and districts, advised members of Congress, and studied the successful implementation of schools with more learning time, the National Center on Time & Learning is well-positioned to support states interested in fostering time and learning innovations in their districts and schools. To provide this valuable support, NCTL currently offers the following consulting services and guidance:
● Support for School Improvement Grant (SIG) efforts to increase learning time: NCTL works directly with state education agency (SEA) leaders to develop guidelines for districts and schools to effectively increase learning time.
● Written proposals that can be integrated into a state’s application for federal funds or waivers.
