Loretta Johnson

Senior Director, School & District Support, New York

Loretta Johnson is a senior director of School and District Support in New York for NCTL. She works with schools that are transforming their practices and learning time in Rochester, NY. 

Loretta attended Michigan State University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s in Counseling and Guidance. Having earned her administrative certification from the State University of New York at Brockport, Loretta has also taken numerous postgraduate courses at Brockport, Nazareth, and St. John Fisher colleges.

Prior to joining NCTL, Loretta was a senior associate with The National Center on Education and the Economy and America’s Choice, Inc. where she specialized in leadership development. Loretta began her career teaching in Indianapolis, Indiana, and, during that time, she received a Fulbright Exchange Teacher Award to teach in Colchester, Essex, England. With over forty years of experience in education at the school and district levels, Loretta retired from the Rochester City School District after serving in positions ranging from classroom teacher to deputy superintendent of schools. Loretta was appointed Rochester’s interim superintendent of schools from 1994-1995.
