Sheila Murphy, Vice President
Finance & Administration


Sheila Murphy has worked in positions in both the non-profit and private sectors. From 2000 to 2008, she was Chief Operating Officer at the Center for Women & Enterprise, the largest women’s business center in the country. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Operations for Big Brother Association of Mass Bay and was Chief Financial Officer of a privately held, fast growth software company in the financial services industry. She co-founded and managed her own business for more than ten years, after beginning her career with a Fortune 500 company.

Sheila brings a long time personal interest in education reform, as well as breadth of management and organizational development experience, to her position at the National Center on Time & Learning. She has managed organizations in a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing, high tech, retail and not-for-profit. During her early career she became one of the first women managers at a Fortune 500 company. Subsequently, she has managed companies from start-up through rapid growth stages. Sheila holds a Masters in Business Administration from Simmons College School of Management and has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
