New York Cohort 2

In New York, the TIME Collaborative is a partnership between the National Center on Time & Learning, the Ford Foundation, the New York State Department of Education, and several local community partners including the Rochester Area Community Foundation, The After-School Corporation (TASC).

Cohort II schools are engaged in an intensive planning and redesign process that includes six full-day training sessions, two mini-sessions held at each planning school, personalized support and coaching, and access to NCTL resources. The planning process has been developed to prepare school teams to design a new school day/year that meets the needs of their students and community. At the end of the planning process, schools will submit implementation plans for their new school day/year for review by the TIME Collaborative partnership. Schools that have created plans that meet the TIME Collaborative standards for both high-quality and sustainability will move forward with implementation of their redesigned schedule with expanded learning time in the 2014 – 2015 school year.
